The view of Padua with students

Wallpainting

Title: The view of Padua with students

Author: Perissinotto Giorgio, so called Peri, 1904/1993

Date: 1940

Description

The fresco decorates one of the walls of the Hall of male Students, opened on the New Courtyard. It represents a view of Padua, with some famous buildings (Basilica of St. Anthony, Bo Palace, Caffè Pedrocchi, the Observatory, the city walls), the Euganean Hills in the background and students attending various activities. The interiors of some buildings are visible. Only the ancient part of Bo Palace is represented, with the tower as it appeared before his partial demolition in 1914, the Old Courtyard, and between the windows of the second floor, the fascist emblem and three commemorative plaques. Above, on the right, the Allegory of the Exam is flying.
