Astrolabes, telescopes, microscopes, steam engines….
The Museum of the History of Physics of Padua University offers a scientific journey through time, from the Renaissance to the Industrial Revolution, and up to today.
Starting from the eighteenth-century Cabinet of Physics set up by Giovanni Poleni, the collection has been enriched throughout the last centuries. The instruments, which were intended for physics teaching and research, had actually to be continuously geared to the developments of science and the needs of teaching, and thousands of new apparatuses have thus been acquired, as well as some older instruments of the fifteenth and sixteenth century.
The museum itinerary is illustrated not only by precious original objects, but also by some interactive experiments and multimedia simulations.
